T105 – Work Experience Practicum
For the Tourism Administration Certificate Program, students must successfully complete 64 hours of work experience practicum in a tourism setting and 12 lecture hours in order to receive their certificate. Prior to the work experience, students will outline their learning goals and after prerequisites are completed, students will practice the principles and skills learned in the classroom. This work experience provides experiential, workplace-based learning opportunities. The experience builds employable competencies, and practices the principles and skills learned during classroom study. Work experience builds employment linkages and establishes the foundations of an individual’s employment history. This course will enable students to analyze their work experience to define and measure their learning on the job.
