The work experience practicum and Co-op components are an important aspect of applying the principles learned in class to obtain the real-life skills necessary to be successful in the workplace. Valemount College facilitates student learning and skills development through making partnerships with a variety of employers throughout our region, however, true responsibility to obtain, learn and develop new skills lies with the student. Students are encouraged to seek out employment themselves to complete the requirements of our programs that include a Co-op or Work Experience Component. As a Co-op student, you’ll learn to present yourself and get the resources and coaching you need to find employment. You’ll apply your classroom skills to the workplace and gain a world of benefits! Refer to the ‘Contact’ Tab and ‘Jobs for Students’ on our website to check which employers are currently offering student development opportunities.
We welcome all employers to be an essential part of our co-operative education programs by signing up for Co-op events and/or by hiring a Co-op/Work Experience Program student.
