What does this mean for students?
This means that Valemount College has undergone and passed a strict vetting process that ensures students are receiving a post-secondary education that meets provincial quality standards. Educational programs that have obtained accreditation have been proven to have attained a level that meets or exceeds standards that were developed by experts in the field and instructors employed at Valemount College meet strict recruitment standards set-out by the PTIB. Additionally, provincial accreditation means that the PTIB has ensured that the college is a financially sound institution and that the financial investment students make in their post-secondary education is protected through the Student Tuition Protection Fund. Accreditation also helps students with their career search as employers must determine the validity of programs of study to determine whether a graduate is qualified and has graduated from an accredited college with the skills that will be applied by the student in their career.
